Hey Joe, thanks for the theme. I reworked it a bit for my blog, and I think it works quite well.
I wanted to recommend that you remove the “Free WordPress Themes” slogan from the header. I wasn’t very excited to find that slogan in my blog title, keywords and description. I’m happy to give a theme designer credit in a link. I know it takes work to make these things. I do some design myself. However, messing with people’s titles and meta data isn’t cool. It can negatively impact search engine results.
Hi Will Johnston
nice to c u here
I’ve considers taking the design of my blog and send it for no cost to wordpress community and its members, about the slogan in the header and footer, may be i’ve forgot it, it’s very clear that was my first Theme
I promise you I’ll fix it with the next version
My Regards..
Joe Larry
Larry,
I am new to this and need advice if you have the time? I love your theme. When I set up the theme I seemed to have lost the original home page link. I set up a new home page and now have this in the top menu:
Home About Home
I can get the Home on the left to point to the Home on the right but when I remove the Home on the right I lose the page totally and then if I click on the Home link on the left get a 404 error. I can’t figure out how to get the original Home link tab to work correctly. I also can’t get the About menu link to point to the About page either. Please help.
I will keep working on it but thought you might know the answer.
Thanx Brady
iam trying to get the point
, but i think it’s easy, any way, your home link must have this att between “href”
< ?php echo get_option('home'); ?>
if you’ve seen “home” twice, so u should open menu.php and remove line 3
try it
That was a big help. But I am still at a loss of finding the original home page. If you go to my site I am working on:
jw-hawaii.org
You will note that the page that comes up is a post. I want the opening page to be the home page I have set up that is the next tab.
There is HOME HOME ABOUT CONTACT
I can’t figure out how to make the first tab HOME go to the second HOME and then delete the second HOME tab. thanks.
Hi brady
aha, may be you’ve create a page with that name
follow these steps
WP Dashboard - > Manage - > Pages
check “Home” and then press “Delete” button
Ok. Now the home page is again the post “Naalehu Congregation”
I want the HOME page to change to a different page. How do I do that?
as i told u before
WP Dashboard - > Manage - > Pages
but this time click on “Home” link, then u’ll b able to modify it as u want, including title “change from home to any”
Ok. That works. But, what I want is to have the HOME page be a page rather than a post. Apparently the HOME tab always goes to the last post written. Isn’t there a way to make the HOME tab be a page rather than the last post written? What I want is when anyone goes to the blog the home page is a page with an introduction and when one clicks on HOME it goes back to the introductory page. Is this possible?
Mmm, i dont think so
may b u should try it manually
I have tried several times and the HOME tab will not go to a page, it always goes to the latest post. Is it possible to have the HOME tab go to the oldest post? You would think that it would be possible to change the tab to go to a page rather than a post? There must be a way to do this.
i dunno what’s happening to ur wordpress dashboard
i think u might download the latest version of wordpress
wordpress.org/latest.zip
but i guess u should ask “Wordpress Support” they will help u better than me
wordpress.org/support/
Ok, thanks for all your help. I love your WPLight template. It is cool, slick and simple. Thanks for being so helpful too.
Hey Joe, great theme. Do you do custom themes? If so, how can I contact you?
